NaPoWriMo: Morning View

Published 12th April 2014 by viewsofpreethib

Day 12: Not going with the prompt again. Rather than today’s prompt I am writing on the prompt that was given on 07/04/14. I am posting a poem related to that prompt today. πŸ˜›
Prompt was : “Take a good look outside your window. Spend a minute or so jotting down all the nouns you see outside. Tree. Car. Bus. Dog. Then spend a minute or so writing down all the colors you see. Finally, think about taking place outside. Is the wind blowing? β€œBlow.” Is someone walking their dog? β€œWalk.” Spend a minute or so writing down these verbs. Now you’ve got a whole list of words from which to build a poem, mixing and matching as you go

Morning View

Scorching morning in the summers,
Busy, Noisy streets,
I wake-up with a mutter,
Noise’s striking head as thunder.

A view from my window,
Constructions of buildings,
Just flats in large boundaries,
Vehicle’s struggling in roads of narrow.

For miles not a sight of trees,
And you can hardly find breeze,
A thought that’s haunting,
This is leading to global warming.

  • Sigh…I agree. Depressing but true! (though I live next to a jungle and have a lot of greenery around) but gradually I see the boundaries of jungle getting closer and closer..someday am sure there will no boundaries and no jungles!
