Day 27- NaPoWriMo’18 – The Magician!

Published 28th April 2018 by viewsofpreethib

Day 27: And now for today’s (optional) prompt. Following Lauren Hunter’s practice of relying on tarot cards to generate ideas for poems, we challenge you to pick a card (any card) from this online guide to the tarot, and then to write a poem inspired either by the card or by the images or ideas that are associated with it.

The Magician!

The Magician has come thy way,
With the crossed nimbus,
Symbolising he is a  holy spirit,
His right hand holds the wand of mystic,
Pointing towards the sky,

His left hand pointing the earth,
Symbolising the whole of universe,
Serpent around his waist biting its own tail,
Symbolising ones act decides their own fate,
The magic table with sward, wand, coin and cup,
Symbolising the elements earth, water, air, fire,
And also mind, heart, body and soul,
The roses and the lilies,
Symbolising sorrow and happiness,
White robe of the magician,
Symbolising the peace and purity,
The red over coat,
Symbolising beauty and mysteries in the world,
The Magician can turn your life in awe or in pain…

  • I don’t know much about cards but if I would have done this prompt I’ll probably go with love card, if there’s something like that. 😁 Two more Preethi and NaPoWriMo is done. Great job! 😇
