Story – Rani Mehra (Kangana Ranaut) who is a simple, homely, shy yet enthusiastic, sensitive, timid woman in her early twenties from Delhi. Rani is excited as she is getting married to the man Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) who loves her from collage days. To her shock two days before the wedding Vijay meet’s her in a cafe day and tells her that he does not want to marry her. The reason he gives for not marrying is that since he is back from London he has changed a lot, he is modern, more sophisticated, his standards are more and hence she is no longer his type of girl with whom he wants to settle, as she is still the same simple woman who is not modern. She begs him to marry her and assures him she would change herself as per his likes after the wedding. However, Vijay rejects her and says he will not change his decision, as he no longer wants to marry her.

Rani comes back home crying and locks her up in a room for a whole day. The next day morning she tells her parents she wants to go on her honeymoon. Her parents are shocked, but finally agrees on sending her alone to travel to Paris and Amsterdam. The rest of the story is about her journey in the foreign land, her experience in the foreign land, new friends, and her discovery about her-self. During her travel, Vijay calls her and tells her he wishes to marry her. What made Vijay to call her? Why did he call her? Will Rani and Vijay get back together? To know all the answers to these questions you will have to watch the movie.

My Say on the Film – Good teamwork, a female oriented movie, beautiful cinematography, good story, acting is good. Fabulous performance by Kangana Ranaut.

Closing Remarks – A movie that shows that a woman can be strong, she can take her decisions, she can overcome any trauma she is going through. A good movie to watch for sure.

Story – It is an unsolved mystery, When we are born, God shows us our parent, sibling, relatives, friends but there is one person who will remain to be unknown until a certain age is the feeling of Esha Malhotra (Esha Deol). Esha a beautiful, sweet, bubbly, confident, loving, caring, girl with good morals; who is back to her home from the hostel after completing her graduation. While chatting with her best friends and cousin she spills out the truth that she is in love. On asking her how and with whom she fell in love when she is a shy reserved girl, she tells the story. While she was studying in collage once she comes across a book with some notes written by someone, the minute she reads it she connects to that feeling. She and her friend call up the radio to request a song and when the RJ asks her for her boyfriend name she tells him that she has no boyfriend but would like to dedicate to someone else, and she tells a poem (which she remembers well) written by someone and request for a song. After a while, the RJ receives a call and then the guy from the other side say’s that he likes to leave a message to the girl who just requested his favourite song. He says it is he, who had written the poem when he was a student in that collage and at that time, he was not aware to whom he wrote that for but today he feels to whom he had written that poem seems to be that girl and wishes to meet her. On hearing that the RJ announces the date, time and place, which is his studio for them to meet up. The guy who is called as Rahul (Hrithik Roshan) turns up to the radio station but then instead of the girl he receives a letter from her. The letter do not contain the name, address or her number but instead a post box number is mentioned on it stating she would like to be his friend without revealing her identity and request him to write letter to her. Both of them do not reveal their name, address, pictures nor their numbers but continue to write each other sharing their feelings.

Fate brings them together but both of them won’t know or recognise each other and they become friends. One day Esha’s grandfather tells her he wishes her to get married and they have a proposal of a guy. Esha confess to her grandfather she is in love with a guy and she do not know his name, address, what he does or anything but they both write to each other. Her grandfather asks her to write a letter to him and fix a date so he could meet him in person as per Esha’s request. But unfortunately Akshay Kapoor (Saif Ali Khan) turns up along with his family and Esha’s aunt who had spoken about the marriage proposal to Esha’s grandfather. Forcefully Esha agrees to marry Akshay and on their engagement day Esha receives a letter from Rahul asking her to meet him and telling her he received the letter late and hence he could meet her on the day fixed with her grandfather. Esha goes to meet Rahul though the engagement function is about to start in sometime. Rahul sees Isha from a distance and gets shock as she is the girl who is about to be engaged with Akshay who is his best friend. Rahul leaves the place without meeting Esha.

Will Esha get married to Akshay? What will happen to Rahul? Will Akshay get to know about Esha and Rahul? Would fate bring Esha and Rahul together? What is their destiny? Will true love win? To know the answers you will have to watch the movie.

My Say on the Film – A beautiful love story, brilliant acting, awesome cinematography. My personal favourite song where the music and lyrics are so beautiful and meaningful is “Jaa Sanam Mujhko Hai”

Closing Remarks – Maybe this is what you call as “Blind love”, a story that makes you believe true love do exist. Awesome job by the entire team. It is one of my favourite movies. Like the way the story is built and presented.

As the members of the hockey association felt that there is no scope for women’s team in hockey as women are only meant to be in the house cooking and taking care of family rather than playing on field. Finally the Hockey Association decides to give an opportunity to Kabir Khan by making him the coach for the Indian National Women’s Hockey Team.

Now comes the great challenge for Kabir Khan. How he struggles & uses this opportunity to redeem his lost dignity. Kabir Khan becomes the couch for 16 young women who are good tough players from different states. Vidya Sharma (Vidya Malvade), Preeti Sabarwal (Sagarika Ghatge) from Chandigarh, Komal Chautala (Chitrashi Rawat), a village girl from Haryana, Balbir Kaur (Tanya Abrol) from Punjab, Rani Dispotta (Seema Azmi) and Soimoi Kerketa (Nisha Nair), who are from remote villages in Jharkhand, Mary Ralte (Kimi Laldawla) from Mizoram, Molly Zimik (Masochon “Chon Chon” Zimik), from Manipur in North-East India, Bindia Naik (Shilpa Shukla), Gul Iqbal (Arya Menon), Nethra Reddy (Sandia Furtado), Gunjun Lakhani (Shubhi Mehta), Ailya Bose (Anaitha Nair), Rachna Prasad (Kimberly Miranda) from Bihar, Nichola Sequiera (Nichola Sequiera) from Maharashtra, Raynia Fernandes (Raynia Mascerhanas). These 16 young women have prejudice about each other, the difference, ego, religion, caste, has divided them. The struggle, the effort Kabir Khan puts in to train them taking them a good team wasn’t working due to the difference between the women. One of the team members who wants to be the captain tries to influence all the women and convinces them to sigh a letter stating they no longer need Kabir Khan as their couch accusing him to torture the girls by making them work out a lot at t he name of training. Kabir Khan agrees to quit being their couch and assures the girls to return back & then they can do whatever they want. On the last day as their coach he takes them out to give them a treat. In the restaurant there were two guys harassing Molly, seeing this Balbir Kaur goes slaps one of the guy and the guy attacks her back. Then all the women get together and fights back the guys for the harassing Molly. Kabir Khan allows the girls to fight with the guys and then once the fight ends, for the first time he sees a team. Will the Indian Women’s Hockey Team get to play for India? How far the training of Kabir Khan would take the Women’s Hockey Team? Will Kabir Khan earn back his lost dignity? To know what happens next, watch the movie.

My Say on the Film – A movie that shows you, how a person suffers for years for a misinterpretation, a movie which shows, “Where there is will, there is a way”. How one’s struggle, hard work, dedication, honesty, sincerity shall pay one day. It shows us “Unity is Strength” and how to be a team, how all the members have to trust & stand for each other no matter what.

Closing Remarks – An inspiring movie is all that I can say as I go speechless for the great performance of each and every person in the movie. And yes, it is because of all the efforts of the entire crew that this movie was a huge success. Hats off to the entire team of “Chak De India”. A wonderful inspirational movie.

Story –  The opening scene of the movie stars with a police commissioner of Mumbai city sitting in front of a beach, who is getting retired the next day. His thoughts at that moment goes on the question he has been asked from many people from past few weeks as he is getting retired. The question frequently asked to him was, “Which is the most interesting and challenging case he has dealt with in his tenure as a commissioner?” Every single time he was asked that question, he has always ignored and never gave an answer to it, but there was just one case, which he could think off.

Sitting near the beach, he recalls about that unforgettable case that he was involved, but this case was not been registered on records officially anywhere but was just in the hearts of those few people who were involved in the case weather they liked or not.

The case revolves around the commissioner, two sincere police officers along with few teams, minister, T.V reporter with her team, a hacker, the terrorists, and an unidentified man who commands all these people.

In “A Wednesday”, a man (Naseeruddin Shah) calls the police commissioner Prakash Rathod (Anupam Kher) and threatens him he has placed five bombs in various public places in Mumbai and he shall disclose where the bombs are placed & would like to talk to the person who would take the big decision on agreeing his demand. The demand to save the people of Mumbai was, to agree to release the four terrorist who were in their custody.

For those who have not yet seen the movie, I shall not reveal the story here. Go watch the movie to know,

  • Who was that man who demanded for the release of the terrorists?
  • Why did he make such a demand?
  • Did they agree to release the four terrorists?
  • What was the twist in the movie?

My Say on the Film – The most thrilling, amazing, interesting, a treat to the eye movie which makes you sit on the edge of your seat, that catches all your attention every single second though out the movie making you wonder what’s next. A must watch movie and personally I can watch this movie a thousand times and still be interested to watch it 1,001th time.

Closing Remarks – Marvellous story, hats off to the actors who has done justice to the roles they have played. You cannot imagine anyone else who could have done such a wonderful job. Hats off to the entire team and thank you for such a wonderful movie.

A To Z Challenge 2017

Published 01st April 2017 by viewsofpreethib

Well, till last minute I wasn’t sure to take up the A to Z Challenge this year. Though I had planned almost 20 days back about the theme I wanted to do if at all I am taking this challenge this year. Finally, I did decide to take up the challenge.

The last time I took this challenge was in 2014 along with the NaPoWriMo. The A to Z Challenge is about posting almost everyday in the month of April except Sundays. You may ask, post what? and why except Sundays?. That is coz, April has 30 days, and if you leave out the four sundays there would be 26 days. Since there are 26 letters of the alphabet so to match it up the month you leave out the four sundays. On April 1st, blog about something that begins with the letter “A.” April 2 is “B,” April 3 is “C,” and so on, remember leave the sunday out and match your letter’s. You can use a theme for the month or go random – just as long as it matches the letter of the alphabet for the day”.

When I took the challenge in 2014 my theme was on poets and their poems. This time my theme is on movies.

From this here there is no registration for the A to Z Challenge. You can post on your blog directly. Incase you want the badges then you can visit the below link to get your badges.
